BAVC is pleased to offer a Youth Media Making Summer Intensive, a three-week environmental justice focused filmmaking program for high school-aged youth between the ages of 14-18, from San Francisco and across the Bay Area. Much of the educational content will mirror our educational programming offered through BAVC’s Next Gen program, offered during the academic school year.
Participants will develop skills in video and audio production within a hands-on collaborative environment, apply those skills to develop a short documentary video project tied to an environmental justice theme and connect the production of the short video to a social impact plan.
Participants will have the opportunity to go on 1-2 field trips and hear from guest speakers. BAVC will provide all equipment and materials, snacks, and local transportation for field trips and offsite production. The Intensive will conclude with a final event open to all participants, their families and special guests to screen and discuss final video projects.
