Next Gen

In Next Gen, students ages 14-17 will learn how to tell their own story and stories of people they care about through audio, video, game code design and animation using industry-standard equipment and software in a supportive, collaborative environment. Under the instruction of award-winning filmmakers, coders, animators, practicing artists, and musicians, Next Gen participants receive unparalleled technical training in a creative community of peers, along with opportunities for professional growth and direct access to industry professionals that includes client-project experience and a $250 stipend.


The Fall 2021 semester of Next Gen will be ONLINE, with classes held via Zoom and optional in-person lab/shoot days.

The Next Gen Fall & Spring semesters consists of 12 weeks of class each. Class meets every Tuesday and Thursday from 4:30-6:30 pm (Game Code Design meets from 2:30-4:30). Attendance of at least 90% is required to stay enrolled in the program. Only apply to Next Gen programs if you can commit to the schedule for your desired track (as follows):

Next Gen Tracks:

Game Code Design: You will learn about web game design, hardware programming, and 3-D rendering.

BUMP Records (Audio Production): You will learn about beat making, recording, mixing, and engineering.

The Factory: You will learn about digital storytelling, cinematography techniques, and video editing.  

Animation: You will learn about motion graphics, digital art assets, and a range of animating techniques/styles.
